5 Things for June
some things I've been enjoying

Hi my loves! I’ve really been enjoying the weather here in Wisconsin. People have been complaining that it’s “too cool,” but I know we will have plenty of uncomfortable, sweltering days ahead in this season. It saddens me that summer tumbles into autumn in ways it never used to. Summer doesn’t seem to truly end here until mid- to late October. Back in MY day, I remember going trick-or-treating with my heavy winter coat on over my costume! I’m horrified by Europe’s weather, specifically France’s, at the moment. Climate change is real and it hurts my heart. I am grateful for air conditioning (even though I know it’s bad for the environment).
Since June is ending, here is my 5 Things list! June was personally good, but hard as well. I got engaged (and the ring is coming—it’s a gorgeous gold with moss agate!); I’ve been adjusting to two new meds (it’s going mostly well, but it has been difficult with my sensory issues); I’ve continued to feel like I don’t belong anywhere (online and off), but this is a common feeling for me (I may be a well-followed person online, but I am not a well-liked one); and I’ve definitely been suffering from writer’s/creativity block. We’ll see what’s to come in July.
Here are 5 things that I’ve enjoyed in the month of June.
Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
I had to read this as the premise sounded extremely interesting: a tradwife influencer who one day wakes up in the 1800s. I absolutely HATED the protagonist, which I know was the point, but it had been a while since I’ve read a book where I eye-rolled at nearly ever part. Overall, it was entertaining, but not as exciting as I thought it would be.
Y’all know I’m a slut for twinkle lights. I have two strands in my bedroom (one in jewel tone colors and the other soft white). The soft white ones have stopped working, so I recently bought these Tru-Tone ones (in “Candleglow”) that look gorgeous!
I hadn’t played my Switch in MONTHS, maybe a few years even, and I just recently started up again with Animal Crossing. That game was a salve for me when the pandemic started (it came out at the most perfect time!). I forgot how relaxing and cute it is. I’m waiting with bated breath for this game that is supposed to come out this year.
I’ve been trying to increase my muscle mass for a while now and the Apple Fitness app has helped with this exponentially. I love all of the trainers, especially Kim, Gregg, Sam, and Kyle. I’ve also been doing Qigong on YouTube.
earthsignchels and Chloé Marie
Absolutely OBSESSED with both of these musicians at the moment. Please do yourself a favor and check them out! earthsignchels is a Chicago-based artist and Chloé Marie is a New Orleans-based singer/songwriter. Both are amazing.
Tell me what you have been enjoying this month in the comments!
Nobody really talked about my book and I would love it if people reached out to me for interviews or if you just want to review in your space that would be amazing!
