Without further ado, here’s what made me rage and what kept me soft this week:

Reading stories about the many pregnant women who have died because of lack of emergency abortion care is enraging and haunting. Josseli Barnica died after being told it would be a “crime” to intervene in her miscarriage at a Texas hospital. Nevaeh Crain died after trying to get care in three visits to Texas emergency rooms. These are just two of many more stories, unfortunately. Getting pregnant nowadays (even if it’s wanted, like it was for these two women) seems like a terrifying ordeal.
I’m still so angry about the genocide against Palestinians. Apparently: US Sitting on Nearly 500 Reports of US Weapons Killing Civilians in Gaza. This isn’t shocking or surprising, but it’s horrifying. I keep watching Bisan’s updates on Instagram and it’s infuriating to hear what she and others have been through in the last year plus.
I’ve also been learning more about the genocide that’s happening in Sudan, and this was is horrific: Women in Sudan resort to suicide to escape rapes, sexual violence amid conflict.
I also have so much climate grief and anxiety. I really wish the people who have power to do something would listen to scientists: 44 Scientists Just Warned Us About a Catastrophic Ocean Current Collapse.
