A big yikes to this shit: Meta Is Laying the Narrative Groundwork for Trump’s Mass Deportations. I am flirting more and more with leaving Instagram/Threads. I am thinking more about being “platformless”—aside from a website. I am dreaming of word-of-mouth marketing instead of the capitalist hustle of needing to appear everywhere. It sounds so freeing and also scary. Social media will not save us.
That being said, this is extremely fucked up: US Supreme Court Upholds TikTok Ban Law. Even if you don’t give a shit about TikTok, you should care that it’s being banned. This is fascism.
Even though I’m happy and grateful for the ceasefire (and am loving witnessing Gazan’s celebrate with each other), I know it’s not enough. Things cannot go back to how they were for the Palestinian people (or for any of us who watched this genocide on our phones). This is a good article on that: Gaza Needs More Than a Ceasefire.
