Thank you for sharing this. I want us to all get a lot better at not replicating the very systems we are working to dismantle and create alternatives to. A huge part of why I barely have an online presence is because I have watched what you describe happen to so many people again and again. I can't help noticing that when these call-out mobs start up, they are almost always targetting women, femmes, trans folks, intersex folks, many of whom are BI or PoC.
I have a group of close, trusted friends I go to for checking in on my actions and words, because I don't believe I am a bad person but a good person who is always capable of being better. I know getting that feedback from people I trust, who I trust are holding me in love, can be tough. I cannot imagine receiving unsolicited feedback from people without the full context who are moving at the speed of Internet information.
So...yeah. Thank you again for sharing. I have seen more folks with mid-sized platforms opening up about the harm this kind of "community" policing causes. I hope we start seeing a shift.
(Put "Community" in brackets because a lot of the time, the people saying the worst things barely know the person they are attacking, let alone are in community with them.)

I had no idea that you'd been through all of this and there's so much that I sadly relate to in what you've shared here. It has been a long and hard road for me to accept that others have crafted a story of me that is so wildly untrue and that I can do little to nothing to change. Sending so much love and solidarity 🫂
