My favorite Books, Music, TV & More of 2024

I love “Year in Review” posts. I love reading them and I love creating them. I’m capping each category at 5, because otherwise I would never stop listing things! I decided to make this for all subscribers!

1. How to Tell When We Will Die: On Pain, Disability & Doom - Johanna Hedva

   1. It’s not hyperbole to say that this book has changed my life. I was also lucky enough to snag an astro reading with Hedva in early December and it was amazing.

2. Making Sense: A Guide to Sensory Issues - Rachel Schneider

   1. Another book that has changed my life. I was diagnosed with SPD several years ago, but wasn’t given any info and sort of forgot about it until this past year when I was really struggling with sensory issues. I found this book, published in 2016, and it’s one of the only books about SPD for adults.

3. Rebel Girl: My Life as a Feminist Punk - Kathleen Hanna

   1. Obviously this is on my list.

4. Full Surrogacy Now: Feminism Against Family - Sophie Lewis

   1. I read this for research for my book and loved it. Thanks to

5. Black Moon Lilith Rising: How to Unlock the Power of the Dark Divine Feminine Through Astrology - Adama Sesay

   1. I’ve gotten more into reading about black moon Lilith (mine is in Taurus in the 11th house) and this book was really helpful to get more info!

1. Tiger’s Blood - Waxahatchee (this album is amazing, faves are: “3 Sisters,” “Bored,” “Crimes of the Heart,” and “365.)”

2. Carrier Pigeon - Odie Leigh (faves include, “Conversation Starter,” “No Doubt,” “Either Way,” and “Common Denominator).”

3. Poetry - Dehd (I looove this band. Faves on this album include: “Hard to Love,” “Mood Ring,” “Alien,” and “So Good.”)

4. Alligator Bites Never Heal - Doechii (faves are: “Denial is a River,” “Hide N Seek,” “Nissan Altima,” and “GTFO.”)

5. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess - Chappell Roan (faves are: “Red Wine Supernova,” “Casual,” “My Kink is Karma,” “Picture You,” “Pink Pony Club,” and “Naked in Manhattan.”)

1. Wooj “Wavy” Lamp - good lighting is very important to me. I bought one of these this year and really love it.

2. Levoit Air Purifier - I got this for my bedroom; it’s the perfect size!

3. 3 lb Bala Bangles - I’ve bought several pairs of their 2 lbs and keep a set of 1 lbs at my office to wear during the day on either my ankles or wrists. I love these.

4. Olive & June Press-On Nails - I got really into press-ons this year. I got my first set of press-ons for my fourth birthday (they were obviously for children so they weren’t anything amazing). Anyway, I looooove them from Olive & June.

5. Embr Wave - This is expensive, but it’s been a really helpful sensory tool for me. There are two buttons—one that cools and one that heats. You wear it like a watch. I wouldn’t say it necessarily cools me down or heats me up (all the time), but I will often click one when I’m feeling sensory overload or anxiety and it helps me get out of the loop.
