I was a frequent passer outer as a preteen/teen/young adult. Finally tied it to an active metabolism and a stomach that didn’t always warn me when I was hungry. Started carrying granola bars and eating them in strange places. Thank you for the reflection on how fainting stirs others’ fears - I hadn’t thought of that aspect before. 💛

I have also been prone to fainting/passing out.

Once I passed out as a teenager after having blood taken. It freaked my mom out.

Once I passed out in Claire’s in the mall after getting my ear pierced. I was 18. I woke up on the floor of the store with people shopping around me... the clerk called mall security on me and they escorted me out of the mall.

When I was in undergrad, I passed out in a diner after some friends and I went to see “The People Vs. Larry Flint.” There were police officers in the diner at the time. My friends freaked out and called the cops over and my driver’s license was suspended because they thought I had epilepsy.

Thank you for sharing your experiences... I never knew peppermint oil was something I needed?

Oh dear Doc! Your experiences sound so similar to my own! Can't believe your friends called the cops, jfc! And yes, I love peppermint oil--smelling it and/or dabbing it a few drops on the back of my neck helps cool me down. It's great for anxiety!
